Blood Transfusions

Patients who need a blood transfusion have access to this service on the Tyrone Regional Health Network campus.

Blood transfusion is a procedure that involves giving blood to a patient through an intravenous (IV) line placed in a blood vessel. Blood transfusions are sometimes needed to replace blood lost during surgery, from a serious injury or if a person’s body cannot make blood properly because of an illness.
