Laboratory tests unlock important medical information that is pivotal to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Specially trained laboratory professionals perform tests on body fluids and tissues, interpret the results, and help provide physicians with a complete picture of a patient’s health.
Tyrone Regional Health Network provides an on-site laboratory that performs general lab testing including chemistry, hematology, blood bank, microbiology and pathology services. The laboratory is under the direction of a board certified pathologist.
Tyrone Regional Health Network’s laboratory is certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Health Bureau of Laboratories. The laboratory operates twenty-four hours a day. Physician orders are required.
Outpatient laboratory testing is provided on a walk-in basis during the following hours:
Monday – Friday, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
Saturday-Sunday 7:00 am-2:00 pm
Closed on holidays
Certain laboratory tests require the patient to fast, usually lipid panels and glucose. Your doctor should tell you to fast when he or she gives you an order for testing and it should be marked on the laboratory requisition. Fasting means to refrain from drinking or eating, except water for 12 to 14 hours before you have your blood drawn.
The laboratory may be reached by phone at (814)-684-6384.
