The Breast Cancer & Women’s Health Institute, a service of Tyrone Regional Health Network, is pleased to welcome surgeons Kennita Burns-Johnson, D.O. and Stephen Schmidt M.D., FACS, FRCS. Both will provide breast cancer surgery and general surgery services at Tyrone Regional Health Network and the Breast Cancer & Women’s Health Institute (BCWHI). They will continue to provide the BCWHI’s high quality breast care services which have become an integral part of Tyrone and surrounding communities.
Due to the widespread incidence of flu, Tyrone Hospital has implemented temporary visitor restrictions to help curb the spread of flu to patients and employees. The visitor restrictions will remain in effect until April 1 or until the incidence of flu subsides.
The Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary has donated a new Clarke EX40 18LK carpet and furniture extractor to the Tyrone Hospital housekeeping department.
The Tyrone Area School District’s Lady Golden Eagles Basketball Program made a donation of $2,875.84 to the Tyrone Regional Health Network Foundation with funds to be directed to Tyrone Hospital’s Breast Cancer & Women’s Health Institute’s (BCWHI) Breast Cancer Voucher Program.
Employees at the Moshannon Valley Correctional Center (MVCC) donated teddy bears to Tyrone Hospital to support the hospital’s pediatric patients. Tyrone Hospital will distribute the teddy bears to children who receive care in the emergency department, while supplies last.
The Tyrone Regional Health Network (TRHN) Foundation held its 16th Annual Tree of Light ceremony at Tyrone Hospital. Interior trees bearing angels honoring or remembering loved ones or organizations were illuminated during the ceremony.
The Tyrone Youth Football League donated $255.00 to the Tyrone Regional Health Network Foundation to benefit Tyrone Regional’s Breast Cancer and Women’s Health Institute.
