This marks my first column as Tyrone Regional Health Network’s (TRHN) CEO.  The purpose of this column is to provide a way for our TRHN family, patients and community to learn more about TRHN, the healthcare industry and on a personal level, TRHN’s leadership.

Periodically, I’ll use this column to share my thoughts and provide updates on TRHN. I’ll keep you updated on the high quality of care we have achieved and how we are setting even higher standards for ourselves with regard to quality. January 11^th is the official opening day of the Cardiology Associates of Altoona office on the Tyrone Regional Health Network Campus! The addition of Cardiology Associates of Altoona significantly expands the cardiology services at TRHN. This expansion is in terms of the physician care, the breadth of cardiology expertise and the cardiac diagnostic services that people in communities throughout our service area can now access at Tyrone.

Tyrone Regional Health Network will further enhance its radiology services with the addition of fixed Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technology. In December, we will add a new Siemens Ultra Wide Bore MAGNETOM Aera 1.5T MRI.

In February of 2015 Tyrone Regional Health Network and ProCare PT, LP worked together to develop and launch We CARE Therapy Services to serve special needs children in our region. We developed We CARE to fill a service void that occurred when Easter Seals vacated Blair County.

In November of 2014 Tyrone Regional Health Network, working with ProCare Therapy created We CARE Therapy Services. We CARE was established to fill a gap that occurred when a long time provider of pediatric therapy for special needs children announced it was closing its Altoona/Blair County facility.
