The Tyrone Regional Health Network Foundation invites the community to attend its 18th Annual Tree of Light ceremony to be held Friday December 6th at 11:30 am in the main lobby at Tyrone Hospital.
The Tree of Light event is a heartwarming holiday event. This year the Tree of Light event will be held in conjunction with the Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary’s annual holiday tea. The event includes the lighting of Christmas trees bearing angels with the names of loved ones being honored or remembered, a benediction, vocal performance by a choir comprised of Tyrone Regional Health Network employees and refreshments.
The Tree of Light event is held annually in conjunction with the Tyrone Regional Health Network Foundation’s Tree of Light fund raiser. Community members have the opportunity to make a donation to display an angel in honor or in memory of a loved one. Angels may be purchased and displayed on Christmas trees located in the main lobby at Tyrone Hospital. The Tree of Light fund raiser continues through the end of December.
Funds raised from this year’s Tree of Light will be directed towards the purchase of 3D Mammography technology for Tyrone Hospital. 3D mammography is an imaging test that combines multiple breast X-rays to create a three-dimensional picture of the breast. A 3D mammogram is used to look for breast cancer in people who have no signs or symptoms.
