Pennsylvania Business Central, a business and economic development publication that serves 23 counties throughout central Pennsylvania, has named Tyrone Regional Health Network (TRHN) to its Top 100 Organizations List in recognition of the level of excellence TRHN has achieved and the positive impact TRHN has had in the central Pennsylvania region.
Pennsylvania Business Central solicits nominations from readers and consults with chambers of commerce to gather a pool of potential candidates for the Top 100 list of honorees. The newspaper’s editorial board ultimately selects the final 100.
Established in 1954, Tyrone Regional Health Network (TRHN) is a clinically integrated collaborative partnership comprised of: Tyrone Hospital, Tyrone Rural Health Center, Pinecroft Medical Center, Houtzdale Rural Health Center, the Breast Cancer & Women’s Health Institute, Orthopedic Center of Excellence, Tyrone Fitness & Wellness Center, Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary and the Tyrone Regional Health Network Foundation.
TRHN provides primary care, general medical and surgical care, 24-hour emergency care, radiology and laboratory services, an orthopedic clinic, a cardiology clinic, an ear, nose and throat clinic, cardiopulmonary services, physical, occupational, speech and lymphedema therapy, nutrition services, a diabetes center, a swing bed program, home care and Davita kidney dialysis services.
In 2017, Tyrone Regional Health Network was recognized both Nationally and in the Community with three prestigious awards related to the patient experience. Recognized Nationally, for Performance Leadership in Quality and Patient Perspective by The Chartis Center for Rural Health and Office of Rural Health; and by Press Ganey with the Guardian of Excellence Award for Outstanding Performance in Patient Experience; and in the Community with the Daily Herald’s Readers’ Choice Award for Best Hospital. Tyrone Hospital was voted Best Hospital for two consecutive years.
