Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary Recognized

The Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary was recognized recently at a special event held at Tyrone Hospital. Recognition was extended for the generous support they provide to Tyrone Hospital and other entities within Tyrone Regional Health Network.

Established in 1947, the Auxiliary consists of many dedicated community volunteers who render a variety of patient support services, guest relations amenities, and philanthropy to support a quality experience for Tyrone Regional Health Network/Tyrone Hospitals’ patients, family members, and visitors.

The Auxiliary conducts fundraisers for several months each year including craft, bake and uniform sales and a Common Goods sale. During the past year, the Auxiliary donated items to support several areas including the following: vascular doppler technology for the medical surgical unit, movable shelving units for the operating room, lead free aprons and thyroid shields for radiology, a microscope for the laboratory, a hot food steam buffet for the Tyrone Hospital snack bar and helped with costs associated with treadmill equipment maintenance at the Tyrone Fitness and Wellness Center.

Additionally, each Christmas, the Auxiliary adorns Tyrone Hospital providing a decorated Christmas tree for the hospital’s main lobby and wreaths for the exterior of the hospital.  They also provide ongoing support for the Tyrone Hospital Care Car, which provides complimentary transportation to Tyrone residents to help them access needed healthcare services at Tyrone Hospital.
