Tyrone Hospital Foundation Raises More Than $20,000 Through It’s 16th Annual Golf Tournamnet

The Tyrone Hospital Foundation announced it has raised more than $20,000 to support Tyrone Hospital. The funds were raised via the Tyrone Hospital Foundation’s 16th annual golf tournament which was held at Iron Masters Country Club in Roaring Spring, PA on June 5th.

More than seventy golfers participated in the event and enjoyed eighteen holes of scramble golf with lunch and dinner provided.  Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield was the event’s Outing Sponsor. Corporate Sponsors were American Eagle Paper Mills, Arnett, Carbis, Toothman, DelGrosso Foods, Medcom Solutions and the Tyrone Hospital Medical Staff. Course Sponsors were The Lytle Group, Medline Industries, Albemarle Corporation and Credit Control Collections.  The Beverage Cart Sponsor was David Arbutina, M.D. of Tyrone Hospital’s Breast Cancer & Women’s Health Institute.

The golf team representing the Daily Herald and Huntingdon Daily News, John Cook, John Franks, Tim Clapper and Jeff Clemmer, were the tournament winners.

The golf event included a variety of competitions including 4 – Hole-In-One opportunities.

Tri-Star Motors sponsored a chance to win a 2017 Ford F150 Truck or the cash value of $38,000.00. Other hole in one offerings included Calloway Irons – a Pitching Wedge and 3 Iron, 2 Round Trip Airfare Tickets for two people anywhere in the Continental USA or a “Zero Restriction” $500 Certificate.

Additional competitions included men’s and women’s longest drive and closest to pin competitions.

Funds raised from the golf tournament will support Tyrone Hospital’s modernization and renovation project. This project will continue the improvements being made to the hospital’s physical plant and acquire new equipment to support surgical services, emergency services, diagnostic imaging and other areas of the hospital in 2017-2018.
